Buxa Tiger Reserve: Within the densely forested area of Buxa National Park on the northeastern edge of West Bengal is Buxa Tiger Reserve. It is a tiger reserve located close to the Indo-Bhutan border at a distance of 19km from Alipurduar. Entitled the 15th tiger reserve in 1983, Buxa Tiger Reserve was once famous for dolomite mining. Being situated close to Manas National Park, Buxa Tiger Reserve serves as an important elephant corridor. The green forested area of Buxa is dotted with astounding nature trails leading to some of the most pictorial destinations like Lepchakha Village. Lepchakha Village is famous for offering a panoramic vista of rivers and streams meandering through the dense forest of Dooars. Buxa Tiger Reserve is a tiger reserve and national park in northern West Bengal, India, covering an area of 760 km2 . In altitude, it ranges from 60 m in the Gangetic Plains to 1,750 m bordering the Himalayas in the north.
